Santa Clara Sparks U14G Team Won the District II Fall Cup

Congratulations to the Santa Clara Sparks U14G team for winning the 2015 District II Fall Cup. The Sparks played in the Silver/Bronze division. After an opening game loss, the Sparks rallied to shutout their opponents in the next two games and qualify to play in the championship game. After falling behind 1 to 0 in the first of the championship game, the team scored on a header off a corner kick mid-way through the second half to tie the score. Neither team was able to score again in the second half. After a two scoreless overtime periods, the game went to PKs and the Sparks prevailed 2 to 1. Congratulations to all the Sparks players, coaches, and their families!

The Santa Clara Sparks U14 Girls competitive soccer team is looking to add players to the roster for the spring 2016 season.  The team is looking for players who are motivated and committed to playing on a competitive team.  The team focus is on playing competitive soccer while having fun and improving individual as well as team skills throughout the season.  To be eligible for the team girls must be born after July 31st, 2001.  Tryouts for the spring season are scheduled to be held from 9:30 to 11:30am on Saturday, January 9th and Saturday, January 23rd at Curtis school located at 890 Pomeroy Avenue in Santa Clara.  All interested players are encouraged to contact Eric Mendonca at (408) 205-7523 or by e-mail at
