The U15 Girls US National Team will be training and competing against local collegiate teams at Stanford University during the week of April 15th. Here is the schedule of games.
Registration for the SCYSL Fall Season are set for May 10th, 17th and 31st from 11am-2pm at Maywood Park in Santa Clara.
Referees (and potential referees), please read this carefully and spread the word: entry level training in SCYSL has changed, beginning with the July ‘08 Licensing Class.
Here's what will be different: In addition to the 6 classes that are set aside for USSF Instructor Presentations of the Laws of the Game, three additional two-hour sessions are being added (one field clinic and two scrimmage games in which to officiate — with the coaching support of our seasoned Mentors) –with attendance Mandatory for students wishing to officiate games in the SCYSL.
Students who do not intend to officiate with us do not have to attend the three (3) additional sessions. Attendance will be taken at all sessions and the new policy will be strictly enforced. Please direct all inquiries to Bob Sherman, SCYSL Referee Coordinator at soccergeezer@gmail.com
Due to this enhanced entry level training, we expect the class to fill up quickly, so please advise anyone who you think is interested to contact Bob Sherman ASAP, as we will open Class Registration to other soccer leagues in approximately 3 weeks. We encourage Moms & Dads, brothers and sisters, sons and daughters to become USSF Referees in the SCYSL. The goal of our new training format is to send new referees to their first league games as JOB READY as possible.
All classes and field clinics will be held at the Santa Clara Youth Soccer Park

SCYSL recognizes the importance of education with our children, and created the Scholarship Athlete Program nine years ago to recognize those soccer players in our league that receive academic honors (B average or higher) during the playing season. Our program is open to all SCYSL players from the kindergarten grade through high school. Recognized players receive a medal, certificate and a bumper sticker from SCYSL. An awards ceremony will be held January 20th at 7pm, at the Santa Clara Sporting Bingo Hall located at 282 Brokaw Road to recognize our student athletes. Last year about 160 student soccer players participated in the ceremonies. Download the application - posted 11/19/07
Every year, SCYSL recognizes some of our outstanding referees that help officiate the more than 800 games in our league. About 6-8 senior referees and referee mentors select six outstanding referees based upon their ability and form (style), and how they dealt with all aspects of the game. SCYSL would like to thank and congratulate the following referees:
These six individuals attended the San Jose Referee Association Annual Award Ceremony hosted with six other soccer districts from Northern California . Congratulations and thank you from SCYSL! - posted 1/6/08

SCYSL does not offer indoor soccer and a spring soccer league, but we would like to pass along this information. There are three popular indoor soccer leagues in Santa Clara and San Jose;Off-the-Wall Soccer, MACSA Futsal Soccer, and the Strikers Den Soccer. They typically play in a 5 vs. 5 format, and play indoors on both weeknights and Saturdays. South Bay Youth Soccer offers a low-key spring recreational soccer league located in Campbell. - posted 11/19/07
